Nana's Birthday and Marshmallow Frosting

Nana is a May birthday girl. We celebrated at our house this year with dinner, gifts, and cupcakes. I found an interesting recipe for marshmallow creme frosting on pinterest, and decided to try it out. It was perfect. Not too sweet, and a great consistency for piping onto cupcakes. Amanda Lily enjoyed it so much that she requested it for her upcoming birthday party. (That's saying a lot, because she doesn't like frosting....at all.)

We trimmed these roses from our garden. They are so delicate and sweet, just like Nana.

Here are the cupcakes. Just looking at that frosting makes my mouth water.

Marshmallow Frosting
1 stick of butter, softened
2 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp milk (depending on desired consistency)

Use a mixer to blend butter and marshmallow fluff until smooth. Sift in powdered sugar and flour and beat on low speed. Add vanilla and milk, and increase speed to high. Beat for 1 minute. Place frosting in piping bag then in fridge for 15 mins to set. Pipe frosting onto cupcakes. Enjoy.

Nana loves her garden, so we gifted her with a new plant, and many garden goodies.

These three characters "frosted" her cheek for good luck.

Happy Birthday Nana! You are the best.
